Tolls & Mileage or Weight Permits
There are a number of states that have toll roads or a separate mileage tax. Any miles traveled under a trip permit issued for a mileage tax or miles traveled on toll roads are generally not deductible on the IFTA report. These are usually additional fees that the carrier is responsible for.
Fuel Trip Permits
If a trip permit was issued for fuel tax because the IFTA license was not available for the officer to verify, see the IFTA Filing Information web page for information on how to report.
A fuel tax permit may also be required when a vehicle is purchased outside of its intended base jurisdiction for travel to its intended base, as it is not eligible for IFTA until it is registered within its base jurisdiction.
