Department of Revenue announces the Geographic Information System is online

LAKEWOOD, April 1, 2021 – The Colorado Department of Revenue notified retailers and sent notice to the Revisor of Statutes certifying that the Geographic Information System (GIS) is online and available for use. The GIS is part of the new Sales and Use Tax System (SUTS).

Colorado retailers are advised pursuant to sections 39-26-104(3)(c)(III)(B) and 39-26-105.2(2), C.R.S. that they must take the following actions by July 1, 2021:

CDOR announces tax relief for victims of Texas winter storms

 

DENVER, February 24, 2021 - The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) understands some taxpayers will be unable to meet Colorado filing and payment deadlines as a result of the severe winter storms that impacted Texas. As a result, CDOR will enact tax relief that will mirror IRS measures in the same declared disaster areas which includes all individuals and households affected by severe winter storms that reside or have a business in any of the 254 Texas counties.

Department of Revenue announces upgrades to Revenue Online

LAKEWOOD, January 04, 2021 -- The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) and FAST Enterprises released an upgrade to the Department’s free tax filing and e-services portal, Revenue Online, on January 3rd.

DENVER, Updated November 13, 2020 -- The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) and the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) are rolling out Colorado’s first Sales and Use Tax System (SUTS) online portal today for businesses that make in excess of $100,000 in retail sales in a year.

Colorado taps new vendor to simplify tax remittance

DENVER, January 23, 2020 -- The Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) and the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) announced today their partnership with MUNIRevs to provide a single website where users can register to remit Colorado sales and use tax returns in accordance with SB19-006.

Like other states, Colorado now requires all businesses that deliver products into Colorado to collect and remit sales and use tax based on the location where a taxable good is delivered.
