Please remember that you must claim the state sales tax refund (TABOR refund) when filing your state income tax return. If you claimed a 2023 refund, the TABOR refund will be combined and issued out with your refund. Unlike the 2022 Colorado cashback, no separate check will be issued.

Pension and Annuity Subtraction for Income Tax Returns

Individuals may be allowed to claim a subtraction on their Colorado Individual Income Tax Return for pension and annuity income included in their federal taxable income. This subtraction is generally limited to $20,000 for taxpayers age 55-64 and $24,000 for taxpayers age 65 or older, but the limit does not apply to social security benefits. Multiple subtractions may not be claimed for the same income. Read the Income Tax Topics: Social Security, Pensions, and Annuities for more information.
