Your Colorado Account Number (CAN) is an account number that is issued by the Department. It is different from your Social Security Number (SSN), Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN), or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

Revenue Online
Log in to the Revenue Online system, on the home-page the CAN is located near the bottom of the screen under "Accounts".
Correspondence from the Department of Revenue
The Colorado Account Number is listed on all letters that have been sent by the Colorado Department of Revenue. The CAN is listed on the right side of the letter with the word "Account."

Previously Filed Return
The CAN is listed in the Colorado Account Number field in the upper portion of the first page on every form. For example, it is located just under the street address field on the Retail Sales Tax Return (DR 0100).
Sales Tax License
The Colorado Account Number is listed on the Sales Tax License as the first eight (8) digits of the Use Account Number. The CAN is located on the upper left portion of the sales tax license.
