Please remember that you must claim the state sales tax refund (TABOR refund) when filing your state income tax return. If you claimed a 2023 refund, the TABOR refund will be combined and issued out with your refund. Unlike the 2022 Colorado cashback, no separate check will be issued.

Fuel Trip Permits 

If a trip permit was issued for fuel tax because the IFTA license was not available for the officer to verify, see the IFTA Filing Information web page for information on how to report. 

A fuel tax permit may also be required when a vehicle is purchased outside of its intended base jurisdiction for travel to its intended base, as it is not eligible for IFTA until it is registered within its base jurisdiction.
